INFORMS will host Barry Render, Ph.D., Professor of Operations Management Emeritus at Rollins College Graduate School of Business this Wednesday, April 11th from 11:45am until 12:35pm in MCCB G108. He is coming from Orlando just to give this talk!
The topic is "What Do Red Ford Trucks, Rebel-Held Congo Mines, and Lee Scott's Canoe Trip have in Common?"
Dr. Render has taught Operations Management for 20 years at Rollins College. He is also a Financial Times Press Consulting Editor, has worked with GE, the NASA, McDonnell Douglas and has written multiple textbooks.

Speaker: Dr. Cole Smith, Professor , ISE Dept., University of Florida
Biography: Dr. J. Cole Smith serves as Professor and Ph.D. Program Coordinator of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Florida. His research and teaching interests are in the areas of integer programming and combinatorial optimization, network flows and facility location, computational optimization methods, and large-scale optimization due to uncertainty or robustness considerations. He graduated with his Ph.D. from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2000. |

Joseph Geunes serves as Professor and Associate Chair of Industrial and Systems Engineering at the University of Florida. He also serves as Director of the Outreach Engineering Management Program and Co-Director of the Supply Chain and Logistics Engineering Center. His research and teaching interests are in the areas of applied optimization, most notably dynamic programming, with applications in engineering economic decision analysis, transportation logistics and manufacturing logistics.
